"It all started as a boyhood dream..."
In 1976 when Angus Moss spent a mere £300 on his very first E-Type, a dark blue 1964 Fixed Head Coupe, little did he know that this iconic car would shape the course of his life and be a catalyst for things to come.
Starting out in his spare time Angus single handedly restored and sold a number of E-Types to eager buyers and discussed his experiences with the Jaguar Drivers Club as the International Jaguar E-Type Register news correspondent. Over the years Angus freely shared his skills and passion with fellow restorers before deciding to set up his own business dedicated to preserving the car from his boyhood dreams.
Moss Jaguar Ltd was officially formed in early 2011 in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. A 1970’s FHC was the first car through its doors and after a full restoration, soon sold. Moss Jaguar quickly established a reputation throughout the E-Type community thanks to forum posts, blogs, press articles, and positive feedback from a loyal customer base. From our workshop, based in an early 1900’s printing factory, we provide a variety of services ranging from day-to-day maintenance to a complete end-to-end restoration. Our specialist team of technicians always strive to achieve the highest level of finish possible and are taught to treat the original factory standard as a baseline, then look carefully at what improvements can be made whilst preserving the originality and historical importance of these fabulous cars.
To compliment our restoration work we have partnered with a number of leading manufacturers to offer a comprehensive range of E-Type upgrades. To name a few we have introduced fully upholstered sport seats for comfortable yet safe touring, modern air conditioning, integrated five-speed gearboxes, and intelligent fuel-injection systems. Our aim is for our customers to be able to experience the thrill of driving and owning a classic E-Type, with the added benefit of these modern conveniences.
Our roots don’t just end in Hertfordshire. Thanks to a global network of trusted contacts, we are able to reach all corners of the world. Liaisons in the USA enable us to source rust-free, dry state, American spec cars that provide a perfect starting point for full restoration projects, while our eyes and ears in France, Germany, Holland and all across Europe allow us to source the best possible cars closer to home.
We think a lot about the future of these cars and believe that by investing valuable skills and wisdom in a young and enthusiastic team, we can incorporate their modern influences and sustain a legacy that can be shared with generations to come. At Moss Jaguar we are extremely proud and passionate about what we do. As a growing team with family values, we share a vast and diverse wealth of knowledge as well as upholding an outstanding level of expertise and professionalism. We consider ourselves custodians to these special machines and pride ourselves on sharing them with the world as we feel that is what E-Type ownership should be about.
