1966 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 4.2 RHD 2+2
(STALLED PROJECT)
sold
We have been asked to sell this genuine UK RHD example as due to time commitments, the client will not be able to complete the car in the foreseeable future. Manufactured on 27.10.1966, and first registration dated 01.01.1967, this project will be supplied with quality components, and a lot of the mechanical restoration already completed by well respected suppliers. This is an ideal project to finish as most of the hard work has been carried out and is an excellent way to get into E-Type ownership with little outlay to complete.
The car has already been taken back to bare metal with many new panels replaced where required and has been resprayed in Opalescent Metallic Green with a gold fleck in the paintwork. The paintwork does have some flaws and would benefit from some rework in places.
Its 4.2 XK engine and 4-speed gearbox have been rebuilt by well-known company Ed Watson & Co for fast road use with performance upgrades. Please note, there are no carburettors included with the car.
The IRS unit has been completely overhauled by AJS Engineering and houses a 2.88 ratio differential rebuilt by Ben of Simply Performance.
The car also includes a polished stainless steel long manifold and exhaust system designed and manufactured by Classicfabs.
The cooling system boasts a modern Fosseway aluminium radiator and fan kit.
Additional high-quality upgrades and parts already fitted, or supplied, include a 123 programmable bluetooth electronic ignition distributor, polished stainless steel wire wheels, Blockley radial tyres, Fosseway Performance brake upgrade (front discs and pads), Fosseway brake servo heat shield, new wiring looms, re-chromed brightwork, and front and rear glass.
Many more spare parts are included with the car which can be used to complete the project.
