1965 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 4.2 RHD OTS
£127,995
Just in time for the Summer months, and a unique opportunity to own one of our early restorations, this matching numbers 4.2 E-Type OTS was restored over 10 years ago and was used extensively by the owner of Moss Jaguar as his personal car for a number of years. During this time, numerous, trouble free European tours were completed, and it was even used as one of the official wedding cars for Angus's daughter.
As with every Moss Jaguar restoration, we will as a matter of cause, focus on reliability when it comes to the mechanical make-up of the build. But when in the bodywork stage, we will never compromise on the structure of the car. This particular drophead had all new engine frames fitted, and the necessary body and paint works carried out by well-known Jaguar E-Type specialists The Hutson Motor Company.
The engine was previously rebuilt to VSE stage 1 spec, and the 4-speed gearbox has been fully overhauled. Finally, the differential was rebuilt and converted to a 2:88 ratio.
One of the areas that we never overlook is the brakes. The current system we have fitted was completely rebuilt using cunifer lines with a silicone DOT5 brake fluid. Both front brake calipers are also uprated thus updating the braking system to a more reliable, trusted setup.
The sumptuous Red interior was sourced by another trusted supplier - BAS International. The car also comes with a pair of our upgraded sport seats which have been recently re-trimmed to replicate the original 4.2 seat style. They are perfect for long distance touring, and safe in the event of a rear end collision. The black mohair hood was also replaced by world renowned experts in the E-Type industry Suffolk and Turley.
All the wiring looms were replaced at the start of the restoration again to minimise any unwanted touring interruptions. The original radiator was scrapped making way for an uprated system with a CoolKat fan with a full set of silicone cooling hoses. Under dash cooling vents were also installed inside the cabin combined with an uprated cooling fan giving additional temperature control when on long journeys.
With a lot of our restorations, we like to have the creature comforts often found in most modern cars. Upgrades like USB charging points mounted in the glovebox have been perfect for phone charging and when using a SatNav abroad. A period looking digital radio with footwell speakers has also been fitted in the cabin.
Other upgrades and improvements that have also been fitted are:
A set of 5.5" MWS wire wheels
123 electronic distributor
Mangoletsi cable throttle
ClassicFabs stainless steel big bore exhaust
The car is ready to use and enjoy and we invite any inspection. All of our cars come with a 3 month or 5000 mile warranty (whichever is the earlier).
