1969 Yellow OTS (MC)

Rust free car imported from the US.  Car is undergoing full restoration.   Final colour will be Opalescent Dark Blue.
8th February 2019

We have one of our restorations back in (MC) to correct a couple of paint chips.  Before we could start the strip down, we had to re-fit the aftermarket headlight covers.

12th March 2018

We were delighted to deliver the car at last to an excited owner.  Have to confess, there was a bit of frenzied activity this morning  with a 101 jobs to finish but we got her out about an hour later than planned.
9th February 2018

The car is now ready for road testing and we are waiting for the salt to dissipate prior to putting 100 miles or so on her.  (Note that the footwell carpets are not in place and the newly refurbed radiator grille is not fitted).
 19th January 2018

With the stereo now complete on the Blue OTS (MC) we took some finished photos.  Note the tweeters hidden on the dash underneath the dash top.
12th January 2018

Murray's finished the fit up of the superb stereo system and while the detailer was here, we got him to wax and clean the car.
15th December 2017

Murray has spent a couple of days fitting the upgraded stereo system.  Locating items such as amplifiers, cross over boxes etc is proving challenging!
1st December 2017

More time has been spent on finishing off and the car currently resides in our new booth.  The seatbelts are finally in and small jobs like the grab handle fitted.  We are now awaiting the speakers and crossovers to be delivered in order to finish the interior.
24th November 2017

The bonnet centre catch is fitted and the car was delivered for MOT.  All passed with no advisories so a huge well done to the team.  All we have to do now is register and test drive!
20th October 2017

Progress is now being made with the headlight covers finally fitted up.  The other bonnet chrome is now cleaned and prepared in readiness and the LH bonnet bead is fitted.  The upgraded heater motor is fitted and wired up and the connector block bullet receivers have been replaced.  With any luck should be ready for MOT at the end of next week!
18th September 2017

Work is moving ahead rapidly now on the blue S2 OTS (MC) and the boot area is built up with new lines and fuel pump.  The upgraded seats are fitted along with the newly trimmed centre console.  The carbs have finally arrived and these are now fitted along with the Mangoletsi throttle upgrade.  Car should be running this week!  The front bumper is now on the car and needs final alignment.
1st September 2017

Lots of small jobs completed with the side dash chromes fitted and the mutiliated ashtray welded and repainted.
 18th August 2017

The brake lines and front brakes are now rebuilt and fitted.  Just the bleeding to complete now.  The newly trimmed seats and console are back from the trimmers so they will be fitted next week.  The electrical test is now finished so when the carbs turn up, it won't be much longer before we are MOT'ing her.
4th August 2017

Work continues and the exhaust manifolds and exhaust are now fitted.  The wheels are on the car in order that the suspension can settle prior to being tightened down. The door seals are fitted and the door cards built up.  The front brake calipers are going through the restoration process and the bonnet loom is in place.
16th June 2017

Most of the trim installed and the seats and consoles are due at the end of the month.
2nd June 2017

Hood now fitted, just waiting for carbs now!
19th May 2017

Lots of focus this week as it is off for hood trimming on Monday next week (weather permitting).  The dynamat was glued in place followed by the underfelt then the hardura or carpets.  Looks great and now the engine is wrapped up, it is ready for transportation.
12th May 2017

The car is also nearly ready for an appointment with the trimmers to have the hood fitted next week now that Phil has finished the vynil gluing.  We have to finish the car this coming week but at least all the hard work has been done.
28th April 2017

Fuel tank prepared and fitted.  Takes a bit of time as we have to ensure that all the threads are clean and that the sump will seal when fitted.
 21st April 2017

the water pump and alternator are fitted.  The interior was also cleaned and the Dynamat stuck in place ready for Phil to come over and start trimming.  Hood is booked in for 22nd May.
13th April 2017

The windscreen (with built in aerial) has been fitted.  Huges thanks to Dean again!
31st March 2017

More small jobs completed with the fuel tank prepared for installation and side woods re-shaped.  Picked up the trim kit on Sunday so trimmer booked for next week.  We also collected the beautifully built exhaust system.
24th March 2017

Found some time to get more work finished on the S2 OTS (MC).  Will cleaned and started fitting up the rear light clusters followed by the mudguards and stone shields.  The door side chromes are in place and the radiator cooling fans have been rebuilt and tested.
17th March 2017

The owner popped in during the week for a 'pedal fit'.  We wanted to make sure we bent the pedals far enough apart for him to be able to drive the car comfortably as we find the standard distances can be too close for some people.  The distributor is now ready for despatch to the Distributor Doctor for rebuilding.
10th March 2017

More progress is being made this week and the doorlocks and doors are now rebuilt.  We picked up the upgraded top wishbones on Wednesday and the engine was fitted the following day.  Looks magnificent!
3rd March 2017

The RHS door has been stripped of its old sound deadener and new Dynamat applied.  The door mechanisms have also been stripped and cleaned prior to rebuilding.
 24th February 2017

The build continues and the wiper motor has been stripped and greased.  Just waiting for the body to come back from the powder
17th February 2017

The build is coming together well and we now have the rear axle fitted and the torsion bars.  Lots of other smaller jobs have been completed including both doors installed.  Good to see the owner today as well - particularly when they bring cake!
 10th February 2017

The wiring is now finished and the dashboards fitted.  Instruments stripped and cleaned.  The wiper rack is in along with the rebuilt handbrake assembly.
3rd February 2017

Handbrake mechanism being laid out prior to building.  We need some parts before we can rebuild it though.  The main brake pipe has been made and fitted, the servo built up, pedal box with brake and clutch master installed and the steering column in place.
27th January 2017

Work has now begun on the build up.  The bulkhead pipes are in along with the wiring loom.  The steering column has been stripped, cleaned, greased and re-shimmed so we have the correct amount of free play. The rear axle is nearly complete so that will be fitted pretty soon.
9th December 2016

We took a trip over to CME to pick up the newly built engine.
4th November 2016

Finally, we have picked her up from the paintshop.  Managed to get it in without getting wet!
2nd November 2016

The bodywork is complete and the tub painted and it looks brilliant. The final build of the back axle is going on and the powdercoated drive shafts have their new UJs fitted.  Leon is just working through fitting the bearings and then the rear cage can be fully assembled.
19th October 2016

The body panelwork and welding is complete and the trial fit of the chrome is finished.  Leon has sorted out the covered headlight conversion work so we are really pleased.

13th October 2016

The rear brake calipers are now rebuilt with new pistons and seals.  The body shop have worked wonders with the shell and the bonnet is now gapped and fitted properly.  Should be in first primer next week.
September 2016

Bodyshell blasted and now in primer.

26th August 2016

The car is now completely stripped and ready to go off to the blaster next week.  Not really expecting any major issues at this stage.  The rear end was removed and shows signs of not being messed about with too much.

20th March 2016

The welding is finished now on the bulkhead.  You can see photos for 12th January to remind you of how it looked originally. We have replaced the footwells and panels around the transmission tunnel.
25th February 2016

Lots of suspension items going out to the platers.
16th February 2016

Footwell and gearbox tunnel panels fitted so that is coming along nicely.

19th January 2016

The bulkhead work completed and we are now waiting for the final transmission tunnel panels to arrive so we can complete that work.
12th January 2016

The bulkhead and front floors have been blasted to reveal some horror stories.  The transmission cover has been butchered to the point of being dangerous as it has affected the structural integrity of the car.  Luckily, this is no problem so we will be replacing all the panels in that area along with the footwells.  Good job we stripped it all back to bare metal as it was convincingly covered in sealant!
23rd December 2015

The car is now in the bodyshop and work has been completed on stripping down the wings.  You can see where panels have been pop rivetted on to try and extend the bonnet edge.  Not good but this will be addressed.
16th December 2015

Engine being degreased.  Just the black enamel to paint on the block, paint the head silver, clean the chrome domed nuts, blast and powder coat the cam covers and it will look like new again.
10th December 2015

The engine is now removed and the body will be off to the paintshop next week.
3rd December 2015

We have now begun the stripdown in preparation for under bonnet restoration.  Very dirty and dusty but, solid.  The accident damage to the frame hasn't affected the tub and it measures square.
1st December 2015

We took her round the block earlier to test the gearbox, drivetrain etc prior to strip down.  All is well so we will start on stripping out the bulkhead ready for new frames, suspension rebuild, conversion to RHD etc etc.
21st November 2015

The bonnet panels are back from the strippers so the bonnet will be taken over to the bodyshop next week.
13th November 2015

The bonnet is now stripped and some of the lower panels are away for dipping prior to the main structure going over to the paintshop.  It came apart relatively easily which is always a bonus!
9th November 2015

Work has started on the bonnet strip down as there are some issues resulting from a previous accident.  We will take the bonnet down to its' component parts and take it back to bare metal to ascertain what needs to be done in the bodyshop to restore it to its original condition.
